GMS PATIENT FEES LIST

​Medical Card (GMS) holders are not charged for medically necessary GP care.

Fees apply only to services that are not covered under the GMS scheme.

 

Services Covered by Medical Card are as follows;

General GP consultation (e.g. Infections, blood pressure)

Chronic disease management (e.g. Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Asthma)

Prescriptions related to consultation

Referral letters to hospital or specialist

 

A number of services are not covered under the GMS contract and patients can be required to pay directly for these services:​

Roaccutane (Isotretinoin) prescribing €150 (Not including blood test)

Dermatological procedures including minor surgery €Ask at desk

Specialised thyroid consultations  €85 (Not including blood test)

Weight management €150

Hair loss treatment €150
